A two-part partnership announcement article

Lazy Rare Shoes — A digital sneaker collaboration between LCC and Rare Shoe

We’ve been somewhat quiet lately but are finally able to reveal some of the fun utility and mechanics we’ve been working on. If you’ve been hanging out in our discord server over the last few weeks then you know about our most recent project-to-project collaboration with the Rare Shoe digital sneakers project to design, render, and air-drop exclusive “Lazy Rare Shoes” NFT sneakers to all Lazy CryptoCats owners. The token mechanics and community value around this partnership were simple. It was the utility of digital sneakers that can never be physically worn which had some of our community a little worried. But this was to be expected and part of our best effort in not revealing things too early.

Today, we finally get to dive into the first part of this two-part article series and reveal some of the exciting news we’ve been holding back.

Lazy Rare Shoe Partnership Details:

Mechanics:

To receive a Lazy Rare Shoe NFT you simply had to own a Lazy CryptoCat, nothing more, nothing less. A simple way we look to show gratitude to our early community members.

Air-drops will be happening over the next 14 days.

Value:

1. 4K rendered and high-quality designed NFT

2. Digital sneaker collection ONLY accessible by owning a Lazy CryptoCat

3. Established partnership with Rare Shoe Project for future endeavors

3. Last but not least…It will double as your mint-pass for Lazy Sneaker Tickets

WAIT, WHAT ARE LAZY SNEAKER TICKETS?

We’ll pause here and state that if after the following two-part breakdown you‘re still unsure about what we meant when we said “those that hold both an LCC + a Lazy Rare Shoe NFT will reap the most utility.” please click here to enter our Discord server, ping one of the @LazyCommunityManager’s, and don’t hesitate to ask any questions or concerns you may have.

Lazy Sneaker Tickets: Part I

Lazy Sneaker Ticket — A digital key to Andr3wTL’s Genesis Collection

Today, we see this mechanism used by brands like FlightClub, GOAT, and StockX to guarantee a position in line for their hottest sneaker drops while avoiding overflowing and chaotic line-ups, the equivalent of this in the metaverse would be something called “Gas wars”. But in our digital, tokenized, and ethereal world, we’ve figured out how to use the same mechanics to go one step further in providing utility to our community.

It’s our lazy twist on “dual-utility mechanics” with a focus on NFTs and empowering the collector with a choice to either hold onto the digital shoe NFT or to burn it in exchange for a ticket to customize and order a physical pair of sneakers from our exclusive partner.

Simply put:

Lazy Sneaker Tickets allow for anyone that owns at least 1 Lazy CryptoCats and 1 Lazy Rare Shoe NFT to decide between holding onto the Lazy Rare Shoes NFT or burning it for a ticket to receive the physicals.

This is cool, but who’s the exclusive custom sneaker artist you partnered with and what type of quality can we expect from these physicals?

We left a hint somewhere on the Lazy Sneakers Ticket but we’ll save the juicy details for part two of this write-up. For now, we want to leave you with this quote by Erik Fagerlind from Sneakersnstuff that touches on the current ticketing issues sneakerheads have to deal with daily:

“Today, in order for any sneaker release to actually be fair, everyone has to be using the same speed of internet. Moreover, everybody must be the same physical distance away from the servers, as that also affects the amount of time it takes to be first in line.”

From a technological standpoint, he’s right, but it seems we’ve lazily stumbled upon the solution. It’s called Non-fungible technology.

To be continued…
